For the third consecutive year, Las Brisas returns to our selection, maintaining its place as one of the foundational Guatemalan coffees in the Dropshot repertoire. It is the kind of lot we are always happy to revisit: approachable and comforting, yet carefully structured enough to remain interesting from one harvest to the next.
The story of the farm began in 1990, when Marvin Carias acquired his first plot of land. Today, Las Brisas covers approximately 350 hectares in New Oriente, Jalapa, a region that has gained increasing recognition in recent years for its specialty coffee lots. In April 2026, we had the opportunity to visit Marvin and gain a deeper understanding of the place behind one of the most consistent coffees in our selection.
Grown at elevations between 1,600 and 1,700 metres, this washed lot combines the Pache and Catuai varieties. The result is a balanced modern espresso with a familiar, comforting structure: chocolate and pecan notes, complemented by a gentle plum-like fruit sweetness. The processing remains subtle rather than dominant, adding just enough expression to a profile we can confidently return to year after year.

We process orders within 2–4 business days, depending on workload. On the first business day after the weekend, we process all orders received on holidays. Delivery in Romania is then made in approximately 24–48 hours, depending on the courier and location.
Our coffee comes from sustainable farms, carefully selected from various producing regions. We visit at least two different origins each year, where we get to know the farmers personally and see first-hand the processing methods. This way, we ensure that each batch meets our quality and traceability standards.
For hygiene and food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns for coffee packages.
Specialty coffee is a natural product. The flavor may vary slightly depending on the harvest, growing conditions, and roast profile chosen for that batch, but we promise to always maintain our standards of quality and freshness.
