UGANDA GOMBE GARDENS 250G

On the slopes of Mount Elgon in Eastern Uganda, the Bukyabo region is home to small farming communities growing coffee at high altitudes, surrounded by fertile volcanic soils. As Uganda continues to develop its presence in the specialty coffee world, projects like The Coffee Gardens are helping build a more consistent, transparent, and quality-focused approach to coffee production.

Established in 2017, The Coffee Gardens began with a vision of creating a direct connection between coffee farmers and consumers while providing meaningful opportunities for local communities. The project supports farmers through agricultural training, financial bonuses, environmental initiatives, and transparent purchasing practices. In 2022, the washing station was rebuilt at a new location to increase processing capacity and support the project's growth. Gombe Gardens comes from farmers cultivating coffee on the mountain above the station, personally delivering their freshly harvested cherries for processing.

Grown between 1800 and 2000 meters above sea level, this coffee combines Nyasaland, SL14, and SL28 varieties and undergoes washed processing. The result is a pleasant, balanced cup with notes of apricot, chocolate, buttery biscuits, and caramel. Making its first appearance in our selection, Gombe Gardens offers a welcoming introduction to another side of Ugandan specialty coffee, with a sweet, comforting, and approachable character.

Where does the coffee you roast come from?

Our coffee comes from sustainable farms, carefully selected from various producing regions. We visit at least two different origins each year, where we get to know the farmers personally and see first-hand the processing methods. This way, we ensure that each batch meets our quality and traceability standards.

Can I return the coffee?

For hygiene and food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns for coffee packages.

Why does my coffee taste different from one order to another?

Specialty coffee is a natural product. The flavor may vary slightly depending on the harvest, growing conditions, and roast profile chosen for that batch, but we promise to always maintain our standards of quality and freshness.
