The Cafex Washing Station in Kayanza, Burundi, was founded in 2006 by a Belgian-Burundian couple with one goal in mind: to combine traditional coffee farming with modern, sustainable practices. Managed by a committee of 200 experienced growers, Cafex Shikankoni focuses on producing high-quality coffee while supporting local communities. Although Burundi is considered a rather exotic origin, we like this coffee for its light and friendly profile, ideal for everyday consumption.
