No fewer than 470 member farmers bring their cherries to the Njuriga washing station, each with relatively small plots of land, averaging 0.5Ha. The washing station was established in 1999 and is well-respected locally for its involvement and openness towards farmers and the constant improvement of coffee cherry processing. We like this lot for its elegant and complex, yet captivating, taste profile, representative of its origin. It brings floral notes such as jasmine or chamomile, a playful but moderate citrus acidity, and a sweetness that reminds us of caramel, but especially brown sugar.
