The Njuriga washing station has been operating since 1999 and is well respected locally for its expertise and the added value towards farmers in the area. No fewer than 470 families bring their coffee cherries here, which grow at an altitude of between 1700 and 1780m and include varieties such as SL28, Batian, SL24 and Ruiru 11. Pauline Mumbi Karimi is in charge of the Njuriga station and she approaches a forward-looking, innovative approach to the processing she creates. We like this lot for its aromatic complexity, coming with a high acidity, but richness and complexity at the same time.
